Galations 5:22
22 - But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace,
longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23 - Meekness, temperance; against such there is no law
Proverbs 8:19
19 - My fruit is better than gold, yea, than fine gold; and
my revenue than choice silver
1 Nephi 8:10
10 - And it came to pass that I beheld a tree, whose fruit
was desirable to make one happy.
1 Nephi 11:21-22
21 - And the angel said unto me: Behold the Lamb of God,
yea, even the Son of the Eternal Father! Knowest thou the meaning of the tree which
thy father saw?
22 - And I answered him, saying: Yea, it is the love of God, which shedddeth itself abroad
in the hearts of the children of men; wherefore, it is the most desirable above all
things.
Alma 36:25
25 - Yea, and now behold, O my son, the Lord doth give me
exceedingly great joy in the fruit of my labors;
D&C 18:38
38 - And by their desires and their works you shall know
them.
For a doo-dad put some fruit runt candies in a small plastic
bag start the discussion with this quote- Elder Royden Derrick, "May I suggest a
formula for bringing forth good fruit and helping you to gain eternal salvation? Have
faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and in yourself, study eternal truths, ponder and pray for
understanding, strive to incorporate principles of truth in daily living, and exercise
integrity in all that you do, and strive to do everything you do to a standard of
excellence."
I don't know where this came from but I liked it, True
saints are known by their works. There neither is nor can be any other standard of
judgment. "by their fruits ye shall know them." Unless and until they do the
works of righteousness they are members of the Church in name only, and the gospel is not
a living thing in their lives. We must be loyal to God every day of our lives. Well might
the Savior say at one time, 'by their fruits ye shall know them." We are known by
that which we produce in the earth and we want it said of us, "well done, thou good
and faithful servant."
