(Try to sing this in the rhythm of a rap song...)

ALL:  Welcome to the Land of Oz, we're finding brains and breaking laws

DOROTHY: This crazy witch tried to steal my dog. I'll douse her with some water till she's waterlogged.

I’ve done this before and I am not ashamed, but all of these rules are really lame.

Toto here, I am a pup. What the witch tried to do was so messed up. She tried to take me from my house; I jumped from the bike of that cruel old louse.

Scarecrow here, I need a brain.  To think too hard is really a strain. Is my mic on? One two one two, (oh) if you don't like Scarecrow, then you're a Foo

My name is Tin Man, I need some oil, or else I'll rust upon this soil.  You need to know that from the start my wish has always been to get a heart. (Where my homeys at?)

My name is Glinda, I'm pure of heart. To all the bad witches, don't even start. I have a wand and know how to use it, clutch that broom if you don't want to lose it.

Lion here, king of the woods. If you need protection I've got the goods. I lack the courage to be a man, so I'm joining this crazy caravan.

Oz: I stand behind my curtain of doom. You'd best be creative to get in my room. I talk a tough game about my plan, but behind the cloth is a scared old man

Wicked Witch:  My smoke is orange, my face is green. It doesn't take much to see I'm mean. I send the monkeys and cast the spells, but don't be hatin', 'cause drama sells.

We are Munchkins and we may be small but we’ll help you find your way back after all.

We are the flying monkeys we’re not to blame, the wicked witch has brought our name to shame.

NARRATOR:  We start our story kind of in the middle.  You see, Dorothy has already been here once before, she has heard all of the lessons, seen all of the sites and just figures she knows everything that there is to know about getting back home.

(Dorothy is wandering around listening to her headphones not really paying attention and bumps into Scarecrow)

SCARECROW:  Dorothy, how good it is to see you.  So much has happened to me since you left.  I have graduated from school at the top of my class, I am the president of my own company, and even become a YW advisor.  WE KNOW that takes a lot of knowledge because those girls think they know EVERYTHING!  What are you doing here?  Do you need me to help you find your way back home?

(The entire time the Scarecrow is talking, Dorothy isn’t paying attention.  She is too busy listening to her music and other stuff ie; picking at her fingernails, fixing her hair, etc.)

(Glinda and Wicked Witch comes in and stands on either side of Dorothy)

GLINDA:  Dorothy, you know that we all need help getting back home.  We can’t do it all by ourselves...

WICKED WITCH:  Come on Dorothy, you have heard all this stuff before.  Let’s get outta here.  You don’t need their help.

DOROTHY:  What?  Oh no thanks, I can do it by myself.  (off she walks)

SCARECROW:  (as Dorothy is walking away) Come on Dorothy, you need to use your brain...

(Iron rod passes through and Scarecrow grabs on to the end)  Singing Follow the Iron Rod.  Follow the Iron Rod.  Follow, follow, follow, follow, follow the Iron Rod.

(Dorothy is dancing to her music, bobbing her head etc when she runs into the Tin Man)

TIN MAN:  Oh Dorothy!  I have missed you so much.  I wish you could have been around to see everything that has happened to me since you were here.  I have fallen in love, I write love songs for a country western singer, and I am singing at weddings.  I couldn’t have done it without your help Dorothy.  What are you doing here?  Do you need me to help you find your way back home?  (Points to sky)

(Dorothy is doing the same sort of stuff as she did while Scarecrow was talking)

(Tin man freezes)

GLINDA:  Oh Dorothy, Tin Man just wants to make sure you make it back home, let him help you.

WICKED WITCH:  Forget all this sappy stuff Dorothy; we have better things to do then to listen to this.  When the time comes, I can help you.

DOROTHY: (contemplating it all)   No, I am pretty sure I know the way home.  ....(off she walks)

TIN MAN:  Come on Dorothy, have a heart...

(Iron rod passes through and Tin Man grabs onto the end behind Scarecrow both looking at Dorothy over their shoulders)  Singing Follow the Iron Rod, Follow the Iron Rod.  Follow, follow, follow, follow, follow the Iron Rod.

(Dorothy is wandering off doing her own thing again when she runs into the lion)

DOROTHY:  Hey, why doncha watch where you’re going?  Oh it’s you.  Hi Lion.

LION:  Oh my goodness Dorothy, you scared me.  How have you been doing?  I have missed you.  I wish you would have been here to see everything that has been happening with me.  First of all, I have been made sheriff around here, then I had to fight these lions and tigers and bears.

DOROTHY: (interrupts lion) Oh my... I have a hangnail.  (Holding hand up to look at it)

LION:  Anyway, (looks at her oddly) I am finally standing up for myself and things have been going really good.  So what have you been up to?  What are you doing here?  Do you need my help in getting back home?

GLINDA:  Oh Dorothy, let Lion help you.  Look at him, he certainly has enough courage to help you get back home.

WICKED WITCH:  PLEASE...this is getting ridiculous.  Can’t they all see that you don’t need their help? You have been here and done all that before.  I told you that when the time comes, I will give you all the help you need.

DOROTHY:  Lion, I just don’t think I need any help.

LION:  You know Dorothy, sometimes it takes a lot of courage to admit when you are wrong.

(The iron rod appears and the Lion grabs on.   The three of them look at Dorothy sadly) song

(Weird noises come from offstage.  Dorothy now realizing that she is all alone looks a little scared.  She realizes that she really can’t get back home all by herself )

DOROTHY:  Wicked Witch?  Are you there?  You said you would help me get back remember?

(Wicked Witch is off playing with the monkeys laughing and pointing at Dorothy and Glinda appears)

NARRATOR:  At some point in all of our lives we realize that we all need a little help from our friends.

GLINDA:  Dorothy, no need to be afraid.  Remember that you have always had the power to get back home.  You know what to do, just use your knowledge and have the courage to do what is right, we would love to have you come back home with us.

(Dorothy thinks for a second and then remembers that she had her ruby slippers and pulls them out and puts them on.  She taps her feet together three times and the iron rod reappears with everyone on it. )

ALL:  (rap) The Iron rod is the key it will help us all get back to eternity.  We’ve all been taught just what to do, getting back to heaven is up to you.
