I thought I would share with you what we are doing with this year theme on Sundays.  (During Mutual we are focusing on how living the standards in the
FSOY book will give us confidence not only with the Lord but in ourselves too.)

This year during opening exercises on Sunday we are focusing on becoming virtuous women.  I studied Proverbs 31:10-31 and came up with 12 different
qualities of a virtuous woman.  On Fast Sunday we invite a male (returned missionary, father, etc) to come give a short talk on why this quality is important in the person they date, a wife or future wife.  Then on the remaining Sundays (Laurels 2nd Sunday, Mia Maids 3rd Sunday and Beehives 4th Sunday) a girl gives a talk about why it is important to develop this quality in themselves now.

I tried to place these qualities in months that the lessons talk about these subjects.  We are also using these topics in planning our mutual activities when possible.

We are also having each girl make a pillow for young women in excellence. They will be given their first quilt square at New Beginnings.  It is a white piece of material with the word "Becoming" embroider on it.  Then throughout the year we will be giving them other quilt squares in the different value colors that they will be painting the words on.  Then we will teach them how to sew the pieces together and make a pillow, and they will then display their pillows at young women in excellence.

I will include an attachment of the words we choose.  I also made a big poster to display in our YW's room of these qualities with pictures of young women on it.
