Julie : For each girl on their birthday we are giving an 8" x 8" tile
with "Arise and Shine Forth" in vinyl lettering. We put a 16" ribbon
with a bowed tied in the middle so they can hang it on the wall. We
attached the ribbon with goop glue. The total cost was $2.75 each. We
got the tiles on clearance at Home Depot for $.47 cents a piece

My name is
Debbie Fonohema from Provo, Utah. I'm the YW Pres. of our Tongan Ward
here in Provo. This year for New Beginnings we thought that we would
give the girls a pair of Slippers (<---- Polynesian for flip flops) and
a pair of sun glasses. Bought from the party supply store. And then talk
to the girls about arising, (slippers, stand, not sitting in idle) and
Shining (glasses, shining bright). And becoming the YW that the Lord has
wanted them to become. Going forth and sharing the gospel and being an
example to those around them. Everyday when they wear their slippers,
they will think of this years theme and it will be a constant reminder
to them, not to sit still but to arise and go out doing what they are
suppose to do! Enjoy!

Contributed by: Sharlene, Sacramento CA - We made bracelets out of
small, pastel "alphabet" beads. I bought packages of beads and then
sorted out all the letters that we needed to make the words "Arise and
Shine Forth." Between each word, we threaded a different colored star
bead. I used the clear stretch thread to string the beads on. They
turned out really cute!
